Little Storytellers will have fun and learn about writing through a wide variety of activities, prompts, illustrative drawing, song and dance, and animated clips. We make sure the kids are engaged in this playful learning environment, free to interpret “narrative” in any of its many forms while still grounding each day in the essentials of storytelling.
Of course every little storyteller needs their nutrition! Between 11:30-12:30 everyday we’ll break for lunch and play. Nothing stirs up creativity like moving your body around outside. During this time we have all sorts of games on hand to get out extra energy.
Afternoons sometimes involve field trips to nearby locations like Eben G. Fine Park and the Boulder Public Library. During these times, Little Storytellers will come together with our Kid Writers to engage in activities together and share some of what they’ve learned along the way!
Our program runs throughout the summer, from June to August (see Camp Dates below). Each individual week is one full camp experience. However, you are welcome to enroll your child in multiple weeks. Daily, our program runs from 9am—2:30pm. After-care is available from 2:30pm—5:30pm. Please be prepared to drop your child off and pick them up from the designated location each day. Materials: Please make sure your child is prepared for outdoor activity with sunscreen, hat, and water. We also ask that campers also come with one spiral notebook, pen or pencil, and a lunch.
